Ukraine vs. Serbia

Who's better: Verka or Marija?
Did we pick the right winner or was the silver winner better?

Serbia, all the way.

The Ukraine was a fun song but I personally don't feel it was a winner. This year is very controversial (due to the East/West voting dilemna) but I think if Ukraine would have won it would have been even worse.

Comparing these two, Serbia was better. ESC is not place for doing jokes...

Guess, which one i voted for?! 8) hihi... Biased? Moi? [smilie=a_tongue.gif]

In reality, i think Serbia deserved to win. Last time it was Lane Moje vs. Wild Dances. One won, the other didn't. That doesn't mean that one is better than the other; they're just different in terms of their energy, etc.

Serbia presents very strong entries, i hope it will continue to please us with good music in the future :)

Ukraine was just humor, not my kind of though. Although I can imagine that people would vote for it since it is a great song to dance at.
However, Serbia was clearly the best song of this year. Go Serbia!
I hope for such a strong entry next year, perhaps the double for Serbia? ;)

Agreed! They were the top two songs this year, and deserve well their placements. Actually I can't decide which one is better - they are so totally different - but I think it's good Molitva won, so people can still believe ESC is a song competition and not just a freak show. By that, I do not mean Dancing Lasha Tumbai isn't a great dance song, it surely is, but I am afraid many people see it only as a (bad) joke.

Agreed as well!:)
It reminds me a lot of the ESC 2004.
'wild dances' won while 'lane moje' was second.
serbia and ukraine were again so close, but so different in genre, lol.

Ruslana wasn't a freak show but you're right that the two countries were once again fighting to win the ESC.

I hope that will continue in the future! Healthy rivalry is good for development of relations. On the one hand, I think our cultural tastes and mentalities are similar, on the other hand, I don't think Serb people come to Ukraine enough...

There will always be two or three countries fighting to win, this year we only had to focus on the top3 during the voting because it was clear that it would be fought over between Serbia, Ukraine and Russia.
I'd like to see the Netherlands in the top but only if we have a great song, so I hope it will happen before I retire. ;)

Ukrainian entry was a joke, and it is very strange that this joke has taken the second place

There are tons of people liking this kind of songs. I am not one of them. It's just so bad that it is funny to listen to it, but I would never ever vote for it.

"Lane moje" is a much better song than "Molitva". I would like to see:

ESC-2004
1. Ruslana - Wild dances
2. Maria Serifovich - Molitva

ESC-2007
1. Zeljko Joksimovich - Lane moye
2. Verka Serduchka - Dancing Lasha tumbai

I have voted many times for "Lane moje" in 2004! Serbia has received 12 points from Ukraine at ESC-2004! :)
