Swedish broadcaster SVT, has revealed the names of the artists for Melodifestivalen 2007 that will perform the songs announced last month. esctoday.com attended this morning's press conference and can present to you the list of artists, together with the semi-final line up. Many newspapers have, as always, been speculating wildly on who will enter the contest. At last, the official list is confirmed, and brought to the web first by esctoday.com. Below, you can see which semi finals the artists and songs will be competing in!
The press conference was held in Studio 1 at SVT, the studio were Melodifestivalen 1980 and 1994 were held. Most of the Swedish newspapers were there to cover this big musical event. This year the interest was bigger then ever before.

During the last press conference, when SVT revealed the name of the host Kristian Luuk, the producer of Melodifestivalen 2007 told that we could expect anything in the 2007 edition. And when artist after artist was presented, it was clear that this will be one of the strongest Melodifestivalen so far. So, the predictions come to a close (and turn solely to the wild cards), some of the speculation was right and some was totally wrong!

Here are the names of the 28 performing artists (see below for the semi final line-up):

I mina drömmar (In my dream), by Sheida
The arrival, by The Attic feat. Therese
Jag tror på människan (I believe in humans), by Tommy Nilsson (ESC 1989)

Jag måste kyssa dig (I must kiss you), by Nanne Grönvall (ESC 1996)
Cara mia by Mans Zelmerlof
Move, by Andreas Lundstedt (ESC 2006)
Trying to recall, by Marie Lindberg
Money, by Elin Lanto

Same old, same old.

My dear homecountry... when will you ever learn!?

I mean looking at the list of announced acts I already know Nanne will win. So where's the fun?

Offcourse she was rubbed of the first place back in 2005. No doubt about it. But this is like the same thing all over.
Old LOCAL veterans and known passé LOCAL "stars" using Melodifestivalen as their come-back forum.

It's sad because the Swedish people votes more for the most famous participating artist/group than the actually best and freshest song that could stand a chance in Europe.

I mean c'mon. I'm soooo sick of this old-school schlager thing going on. I'm sick of that dreadful Magnus Carlsson competing for the 10000x time. Well offcourse Alcazar was good. But those songs would be good with or without Magnus because he never wrote any of them. When he went solo in 2006 it was completetly awful. But because he's a household name in Sweden by now he made it to the finals.

And Anna Book. Do I even wanna start? She had ONE hit back in the 80's. That's all. Nothing more. And because that song is kinda cult in Sweden by now she will probably reach the finals only because of that. She's probably one of the most annoying swedish celebrities because she really hasn't accomplished anything. Her name just lives on because of that one song.

Regina Lund?? Please... it's like we gonna see the female version of Björn Kjellman from 2006. A known actress cross-over to the music scene. I cross my fingers she will not manage to reach the finals. She's not THAT famous and loved in Sweden like Björn is so hopefully... there's hope.
I defenetly don't wanna see a recap of a bad "acting caparet" rubbing final positions of better songs like it happend in 2006.

Andreas Johnson... please get a life. He's soooo bad on stage. The kids from jESC are more proffesional on stage than he's ever gonna be. He also lives on the past where he had ONE hit. Then he was forgotten and lived outside Sweden for a while... probably playing at a local bar somewhere. Then he thought for himself: "well maybe the people in my homeland remember me for that one song". Then he did a desperate attempt to take part in Melodifestivalen 2006 with a really annoying, almost childish song and a stage performance so amateur. He then noticed that he got his SECOND hit (this one ONLY in Sweden) in like 10 years so he was glad about that and now he will poison the Swedish melodifestivalen again in 2007.

Well do you think i'm too negative?
My point is that I don't wanna block known artists but I just think it's really sad that the most known persons are reaching the finals and get the best chances to win than actually the thing that counts: the best songs.

So what's positive about Melodifestivalen 2007?

Well the most exciting names so far is probably The Attic feat. Therese. Now The Attic is sooo good.

I also like Jessica Andersson. And well you may say she's in the rest league like the the ones i've mentioned before. I think she's not. Now when she's solo and dropped that awful Magnus Bäcklund behind she really shows her true star. I mean she looks fab, sings good and has a good stage presentation.
The song is also some kind of thing made together with Rob N Raz (what i've read) so it's probably not the typical schlager thing.

I cross my fingers for good wildcards this year. Last year was pretty bad.

And people of Sweden.
Vote for the SOONG/PERFORMANCE and NOT for the most famous person.

If we ever gonna have a chance of being no.1 again we have to think new, not old.

I don't really mind seeing many of those oldies back. At least someone is up for the job. =) As long as they are not all oldies, which they are not. I can see several that I can't remember from MF before. Svante Thuresson sounds extremely boring though. That song should not stand a chance just because of him.

Too bad though that the Swedes almost always vote for the most famous performer. =(

Found a site which lists the artists taking part in Melodifestivalen 2007 and a video from a previous song they've released. The aim is to give the user a rough idea of the style they could be signing. Click here to view.

I don't like so much the singers of this year, and I think that it's done for Nanne to win MF2007 as it was for Carola last year :P But anyway, I hope Jessica Andersson has better luck than last year.

I'm usually happy with the Swedish entry but there is a good standard in the Melodifestivalen. Hope to follow it closely this time round.

I think MF 2007 will be great and I'm very curious about the songs. :P

Although I'm afraid the contest is already decided, since Nanne is participating. She's cool but I've never liked one of her songs :?

Hopefully I'll be surprised

Where is Linda Bengtzing?! Damn! She should've won in '06 , but I kinda hoped she'd give it another shot. Maybe our dearest Lena should get on stage (and not to host the show btw )

Nanne has it in the bag if he song is good.

I would love to see Jessica Andersson win though, Kalla Natter is pop GENIOUS...or Sanne. But if Nanne won, and the song is decent then i won't complain :D

So tonight we will know about the wildcards :D :D

What do you think? Which ones are you hoping for?

I would love to see Da Buzz in MF again, their music may be simple but I love them :D

Johan Becker would be nice :D (Or the wallstones) Great voices.

Too bad Agnes got herself disqualified :( Could she be back as a wildcard? Hmm, probably not.

I'm so curious! Can't wait until tonight :P Since I have ticket to the semi in Gothenburg I wonder who will be there as wildcard. This is excitement!
