This is what representative of Armenian TV Diana Mnatsakanyan told regarding plans of Armenian participation in Junior Eurovision earlier this year:
"Junior Eurovision" is very important project for us. This year we will debut in the competition. As main candidates we consider children from "Arevik" band: they are 12 years old, they write own songs (according to the rules of competition authors should be also children). Band consists of 6 persons - two vocalists (and songwriters), others perform backing vocals. They have written already 6 songs. It is much easier to work with these children than with adults. They are used to sing live, they dance, jump around the stage and at the same time have no vocal problems as they have already some professional training. They have already seen a world, used to long journeys, they are learning Enlgish, know how behave themselves, how to smile and speak with mass-media and listeners. These modern, European children should open "our door to Europe". Big role in their achievements is played by band tutors Armen and Naira Divanyan. The band is already known in Europe and in America: they can almost be considered professionals, and it is much better that Armenia will be represented for the first time by children who won't be afraid of public and responsibility. They are used to pressure. Contest will be held in December in the Netherlands, so we have enough time for preparations. Sometime in June we're expecting official regulations of the competition, as there usually are some changes compared to the previous years. And after that together with my colleagues and group of music professional we'll start training and by September we will be working on the song and arrangement. (Republic of Armenia).
