OGAEMALTA.COM REPORTS
The 16 finalists for this years Malta Junior Song for Europe 2007 were announced by the Maltasong board on Saturday 25th August at Vivaldi Hotel, St Julian's. The draw of the official running order was held in the presence of the participants and their parents. This year's edition will be held on 7th September. Sources close to the Maltasong Board confirmed with OGAE MALTA that the festival will move back to the 'Sir Temi Zammit Hall' at Tal-Qroqq.
"Our plans were to go back to Sir Temi Zammit Hall and not as mistakenly hinted by others - the Catholic Institute Theatre at Floriana. That hall will be used for another festival, not ours", stated the sources close to the Maltasong Board. OGAE MALTA can confirm that the finals of this year's Malta International TV Song Festival will be held at the Catholic Institute Theatre, Floriana. 8 members of the jury judged all the submitted songs in this first phase. The youngest member of the jury was aged 13. Judges awarded points on a scale from 1 to 5 to all entries. This ensured a better average score for all entries and decreased all possibilities of unfair or biased voting.
Mr. Robert Abela, chairperson of the Maltasong Board announced that the notary Dr. Audrey Spiteri and the auditor Mr Darren Gouves monitored the whole process. Meanwhile these are the 16 finalists in the official running order, as announced by the Maltasong:
