2) Nie sme gladni.
We're hungry

1) He eats with ketchup and mayonaisse
Он јаде со кечап и мајонез
2) They are hungry
Тие се гладни

Thats a grose sandwich!!! Hahhahaha, well its okay, you are motivated with food, LMAO!!!! Anyway instead of "On" you should use "Toj". Here we can say that, but it is not the right form.

*I should have said "He eats fries with ketchup and mayonaisse".
You can give a shot to that sentence.

How about this one.
1) Aleksandar e zheden, no ne e gladen.

The verb spie - sleeps
Jas spijam
Ti spiesh
Toj/Taa/Toa spie
Nie spieme
Vie spiete
Tie spijat
*Again this is another exception as the verb- "pie"

Some regular sentences and their translation:
Kade odish? - Where are you going?
Shto pravish? - What are you doing?
Koj tropa? - Who is knocking? (knock - tropa)
Kolku godini imash? - How old are you? (godina - year, age; ima - have)

Karolina pee vo diskotekata - Karolina sings in the disco
Jas gledam televizija - I am watching TV, or I watch TV.
Taa igra na kompjuterot - She plays on the computer.

Try translate this into English!
Elena Risteska ima 22 godini (I'm not sure about her age). Taa pee pesni. Najubavata pesna i e "Ona drugoto".

Future tense. I believe once you know the present tense, this is easier! :D

Jas kje igram - I will play or I am going to play (Anyway you English grammar, you know what it is)
Ti kje igrash - You will/are going to play
Toj/Taa/Toa kje igra - He will/are going to play
Nie kje igrame - ......you know already the translation! :D
Vie kje igrate -
Tie kje igraat
* Ok so what is different here! NOTHING, except for future tense we add the small word (if it can be called a word) "kje". The other form of the verb DOES NOT CHANGE at all.
"kj" - it is the letter "k" in cyrillic with an appostrofy (if i spelled it right) on the top of the letter "k". It is the 24th letter in the Macedonian alphabet, you can go and check how it looks like, if you don't know it already. You can also try work and copy some of your work so far on cyrillic, just so you can have a good standing with the alphabet (And I'm sure you'll be very proud of knowing it) :D

For homework, since future tense is not hard, do the following verbs:
trcha - run
skoka - jumps
and another verb of your own choice :D
I believe you will master this tense in no time!

No, I'm not Hungarian, lol. And I'm not hungry at the moment.

I think that fries with ketchup and mayo, sounds better than sandwich with butter, mustard and tomatoes. Imagine if you add bacon and chocolate on it too. lol.

chocolate - chokolado
vanilla - vanila
strawberry - jagoda
raspberry - malina
blackberry - kapina
water mellon - lubenica
lemon - limon (very simple!)
tangerine - mandarina

you already know
apple - jabolko
pear - krusha
banana - hahahaaa, I'm not translating this

other ones:
peanuts - kikiriki
peanut butter - puter od kikiriki
grape - grozje

animals:
wolf - volk
bear - mechka
camel - kamila
zebra - zebra
jaguar - jaguar
cow - krava
sheep - ovca
goat - koza
eagle - orel
falcon - sokol
hawk - jastreb
pigeon or gull - gulab (I think you know this)
rhinoceros - nosorog

Ok, these were some random nouns - animals, to be more precise, that I can think of right now. You can try and put them in plural, also you can find whether these nouns are masculine, feminine or middle. Also you can be creative and try to make sentences on your own.

verb feed - "hrani"
Jas hranam - also can be - Jas gi/go/ja hranam
Ti hranish - Ti gi/go/ja hranish
Toj/Taa/Toa hrani - or gi/go/ja hrani
Nie hranime - gi/go/ja hranime
Vie hranite - gi/go/ja hranite
Tie hranat - gi/go/ja hranat
* Ok the thing here is more logically to use gi/go/ja because it is more logical and makes more sence. They are like small word additives, that adress to something. Since the verb is "feed", it really asks you, who or what do you feed? So:
gi - adresses to plural nouns
go - adresses to masculine and middle
ja - adresses to feminine nouns

Translate this into English
1) Taa ke gi hrani zhivotnite.

Excellent work, especially in translating the last sentence. Okay sorry that I didnot warn you, but there were some exceptions in some of the plural of these animals. Good thing you post it. You are anyhow 100% right, since you didnot know the exceptions, but here they are:
volk - volci
orel - orli
nosorog - nosorozi
Don't worry about that, you wouldn't need most likely to say these words in plural.

Some useful words:
denes - today
vchera - yesterday
utre - tomorrow
zadutre - day after tomorrow
den - day
nokj - night
utro - morning
sonce - sun
sonchevo - sunny
oblachno - cloudy
oblak - cloud
ladno - cold
toplo - warm
zheshko - hot
vreme - we said it can be "time" (as present time, past simple time like in grammar time) or weather.
stepen - degree (in both ways, most common for degree in math and degree as Celsius degrees).
temperatura - temperature
zima - winter
leto - summer
esen - autumn, fall
prolet - spring

Lets start something challenging to translate. I'm pretty sure that all the words are given to you:

Utre ke bide mnogu ladno. Temperaturata ke bide -12 (minus dvanaeset) stepeni. Volcite se gladni. Tie sakaat da gi jadat kozite, ovcite i kravite. Na planinata ima mnogu sneg. Mechkite spijat. Zimata e mnogu studena.

HINTS:
ke bide - will be (this is a common way to translate this)
mnogu - very (very much, a lot of), lets stick with very. But I'm sure you know it.

Tomorrow it will be very cold. The temperature will be -12 (minus twelve) degrees. The wolves are hungry. They are eating the goats (i don't know what sakaat means :( ), the sheep and the cows. On the mountain there is a lot of snow. The bears are sleeping. The winter is very cold.

Thats brilliant. I don't even know why I include "sakaat", but you know this word; it means "like" or "want". However the way you translated makes perfect sence. Good job. I'm very proud. :thumbsup

I want to suggest you something. It is good that you learn fast, but I also would like to advise you to start reading the cyrillic. If you want, I can post the alphabet once again and the pronounciation of words. If you know how to read, that will be great. Then you can read news on Macedonian (even though you won't understand everything) it is a good way to practice reading, and for some words and sentences understand meaning of them as some words can be similar to other languages such as the English (modernizacija - modernization or trend - trend, banana-banana). Just for practice. You can learn even more that way. These days I won't be as much as available, since I have exams this week, and I'm done Thursday. Good luck, and tell me if you want me to post the alphabet with pronounciation of each letter.

Here is a verb you can do it in both simple and future tense.
The words is: crta - draws

Yeah, I hope you mean "Mart" as the month March.

we say chaj - tea, and I believe it is same or quite similar in Turkish. Great that you got involved. It is really not hard, once you get used to it. If you could learn English and Spanish, Macedonian should not be trouble. It doesn't have a hard grammar, like the German language. Serbian language tends to have a harder grammar then the Macedonian.
kale - another word that we use, but not often, however people know the meaning of it. :)

Very good work as always 8)

I will post it these days, as in Thursday I have a final exam (chemistry), so I have to study. I am not sure if this forum accepts cyrillic letters, although I've noticed some people already use it. I'm not sure if every font is accepted, so I'll try doing this Thursday after my exam, unless Bojan post the alphabet with the pronounciation before I do.

Kale is referred to as fortress or castle. But there is a Macedonian word which is used more often.
tvrdina - fortress
zamok - castle
Ok, there are two :D

We do have a sports hall in Skopje, called Kale, because it is situated near an old fortress known today as Kale :D
P.S. Other countries/teams do not prefer playing there as they say it is probably the hardest place to win a game, mainly because of the atmosphere by the spectators.

The alphabet

А - A - pronounced as "A" in Andorra
Б - B - pronounced as "B" in black
В - V - pronounced as "v" in vulture or vulnerable
Г - G - as "g" in great or gobline
Д - D - as "d" in dinosaur or Denmark or duck
Ѓ - Gj - see the pronounciation of "g" and see the pronounciation of "j" (combine them) cause that is the only way for me how to explain for now (cause I don't think there is example), although this letter is not very commonly used in words, like others but everybody has to know it in order to learn the language.
Е - E - as "e" in Estonia, or "E" in Endothermic.
Ж - Zh - as "J" in french name "Jaques". i'm sure I've mentioned this a lot of times, or as "J" in J't aime (i don't know if I spelled it okay)
З - Z - as "Z" in Zack
Ѕ - Dz - see pronounciation of "d" and "z" and combine them in one
И - I - as "I" in "India" or "in"
Ј - J - as "y" in "yak" or "y" in "you", "yahoo"
К - K - as "k" in "Kit Kat"

М - M - as "M" in "mom", "moth", "Malta"
Н - N - as "n" in "net", "Nicaragua", Norway"
Њ - Nj - see prounciation of "N" and "J", combine them, say it fast
О - O - as "O" in "Ottawa"
П - P - as "P" in "panther", "pork", "pull"
Р - R - as "R" in "Romania" or "Russia"
С - S - as "S" in "select", "stay"
Т - T - as "T" in "tiger", "Tanzania", "Tutankamon"
Ќ - Kj - see "k" and then "j", combine them and say it fast
У - U - as "U" in "Uganda" or "ou" in "you"
Ф - F - as "F" in "Finland", "find", "fake", "formula"
Х - H - as "H" in "Holland", "Hello", "hypo"
Ц - C - as "C" in "centaur", but it is better pronounced as Ts, see pronounciation of "T" and then "S", combine them and say it fast
Ч - Ch - as "Ch" in "chat", "Chang", "chilli", "Chile"
Џ - Dj (I am not sure, but I will write it like that to understand me) it is pronounced as "J" in "Jack", "jackpot", "Jeff"
Ш - Sh - as "sh" in "shut up", "shy", "shoes"
Total of 31 letter

Here for better pronouncing, especially with the weird combined letters try this web site bellow you can download a tutorial for pronouncing and reading Macedonian. Hope it helps well, and keep on reading, I'll still post grammar, sentences, vocabulary, and puzzling questions of-course.

Now we will learn the countries in Europe on Macedonian. You can try pronouncing them, after you take that online tutorial (HOPEFULLY YOU DOWNLOADED, BEFORE LEARNING THIS). I really hope this learning is entertaining, if it is borring tell me some better way so I can improve my teaching skills.

English word/Macedonian word

Albania - Albanija
Andorra - Andora (simple)
Azerbaycan - Azerbejdjan - (Dj sometimes I write Dz is this letter Џ) so it is AЗEРБЕJЏAН. Some qualify it as European, but it is Asian country but whatever we can learn it.

MACEDONIA - MAKEDONIJA

I think I did not forget any country, but if I did don't be mad, its late.

And the BONUS question for today:
1) The plural of "broj" which means "number" is "broevi", but for "voz" is "vozovi" and for "grad" - gradovi, for sport - sportovi, for klip - klipovi. Why is not "broovi", but it is "broevi"? I am sure you can give me a good explanation for this odd case.

And another question, bonus one:
1) What is the second largest city by population in Macedonia?

Have fun!
OFFICER Krystal, oh yeah!!!
